2 – 4 players

Play Block Dominoes online — race to empty your hand, with video chat.

Block Dominoes is the simplest and fastest of the domino family — and the one most families actually play. The double-six set, draw to start, place tiles end-to-end matching pips, and the first player to empty their hand wins the round. Pip count of remaining tiles scores against the losers, and the first to a target (usually 100 or 150) wins the match.

Family Time handles the blocking rule cleanly — when nobody can play, the round ends, pips are counted, and the next round starts automatically (no soft-locks on a blocked round, which is more than the apps you've been trying can say).

AI opponents at three difficulty levels know when to play heavy tiles to flood out an opponent and when to hold their doubles. Three- and four-handed games run 10–15 minutes a round.

Dominoes FAQ

Is this Block, Draw, or Mexican Train?

Family Time currently runs Block Dominoes — the simplest, fastest variant. Draw Dominoes and Mexican Train are on the roadmap.

What happens when nobody can play (a "blocked" round)?

The round ends, everyone's remaining pips are counted, and the player with the lowest pip count wins (or if tied, the round is a wash). The next round auto-starts after a 5-second scoring banner.

How many players is best?

Block Dominoes plays best with 4. With 2 it's a fast, brutal head-to-head; with 4 it's a real strategy game with hand management.
